Roan Antelope in Zakouma National Park in Chad

Roan antelope (Hippotragus equinus) populations in much of Eastern and Southern Africa have declined significantly in recent years. In certain parts of West and Central Africa however they remain abundant and as the best protected park in this region Zakouma is now a major stronghold for the species. Without doubt Zakouma is also one of the best places to see them on a typical safari here you can expect to see them everyday.
