SHADES OF ORANGE AND GREEN in OLD BERMUDA -- "Royal Poinciana" Fires Up the Island Paradise

Please see ONIONPATCH'S COMMENT #1 below. Thanks !

Ha ! Okinawa_Soba thought it looked familiar.....This tree lines many a street in OKINAWA ! We call it houboku.

In Okinawa --- at least where I notice and enjoy it --- the blossoms are always up HIGH on the branches spread over the roads and traffic. Seeing it low to the grassy ground here in the photo certainly threw me off !

Bermuda and Okinawa --- Friends of the Royal Houboku !

Thanks again, OnionPatch !

From a 1930s set of glass lantern slides. Processed and hand-colored with transparent dyes by the T. ENAMI Studio in Yokohama, Japan.

It is not known who took the original images, but they seem to be a combination of personal, private tourist views, and real-photo stock shots possibly obtained in Bermuda during the tourist's stay in Bermuda ca.1932-35.

Not yet in the Public Domain, they are posted here for historical and educational purposes. If you are the photographer, please contact me with proof of authorship and conditions for use, and that I may give proper credit. Thank you.
