THE UMBRELLA FARM --- Abstract Panoramic Crop from a 100 year old Glass Lantern-Slide from Old Japan

Once I post a photo on flickr, I try to move on from it. The full version of this T. Enami image has been posted in his slide set here for many months. However, I keep looking at it, and see so many possibilities for "new" images to be extracted from it. The above is only one of many ways to see it. If I look at this "interpretation" long enough, parts of it begin to smell like an M.C. Escher print.

Hit the ALL SIZES button above the photo, and go to the ORIGINAL for a pan and scan of the details. While looking at that, remember that the actual size of the scanned image portion is only about 1 inch x 2 3/4 inches. Not bad at all --- unless you were the colorist who had to tint those 100s of umbrella stripes by hand....one by one.
