KIDS AT A KIOSK -- The "Wheat Gluten Seller" in OLD JAPAN

Circa.1892-95 hand-tinted glass slide by T. ENAMI of Yokohama, one of Japan's greatest photographers who arose during the last half of the Meiji-era.

Image posted full-rez. Hit the ALL SIZES button, and go to ORIGINAL file size if you want a detailed "look around" at what's going on.

The Japanese for "wheat gluten" slips my mind as I write this, but the kids are in for a tasty treat. There's also a nice WOODBLOCK print with more kids on that the vendor has up, possible containing advertising.

This is certainly a nice rustic street view from old Japan.
