Repurposed fabric felt flower heart ornament
I adore Pottery Barn, PBK and PBTeen...I often find myself searching their websites and perusing through their sales and clearance items. While I love the store, I often can't afford much in it! But, when they have clearance sales you can get some great things.
So was the inspiration for this heart. I found some gorgeous pillow shams from their teens section. The pillow shams were in the 'Euro" size but it didn't matter to me because I bought them withe the intention of repurposing them. A lot of what you see on the heart is from the actual material of the sham..Beautiful machine stitching..and these gorgeous and colorful flowers created from rich velvets, heavy canvas and soft corduroy. BUT..you know me..that wasn't quite enough..so I hand cut and sewed some beautiful felt flowers..roses..flower centers to the pre-existing flowers on the material..added some hand embroidery details to the fabric and the felt flowers..added a gorgeous snow white thick satin ribbon and voila..an hanging heart ornament..Heart is overstuffed with polyfil and the back of the heart was cut from a shocking pink/salmon hued felt...
Would make a very nice Mother's Day gift..don't ya think? See my profile page for more info on where to get this..
