Thanksgiving
Holiday traditions vary from family to family. Perhaps no holiday more than Thanksgiving means traditional family gatherings and festivities. As my family grew up, out and apart, the familiar family gatherings became smaller and more difficult to organize given distance. Karyn's family has celebrated Thanksgiving with a gathering of Quakers at Florida's Wekiwa Springs State Park near Orlando. Karyn invited me to join her family at their traditional gathering. Besides a great meal, we shared a great hike, an easy kayak trip and cooking a Saturday night chili dinner for over 40 people. It was a great weekend where I shared Thankgiving with not only a family but a great gathering of new friends.
