(HMTC) Hull Municipal Training College - school badge (1920's - 1950’s)

The Hull Municipal Training College (HMTC) was founded in 1913 as a teacher’s training college and in 1976 was merged to form part of the Hull College of Higher Education, ultimately becoming part of the University of Lincoln. The HMTC changed its name to the <Hull Training College during the 1950's


The word Prospice is Latin for ‘look forward’ and presumably was the motto of the HMTC. (Hull Municipal Teacher’s Training College blazer showing the HMTC-Prospice crest).



Enamels: 1 (black).

Finish: Gilt.

Material: Brass.

Fixer: Pin.

Size: 1” diameter (about 25mm).

Process: Die stamped.

Imprint: No maker’s name or mark.
