Nunhead Cemetery in South East London is one of the Magnificent 7 Victorian Burial grounds and was let to grow wild from the late 1960's with most of the graves disappearing under the overgrowth of grass and woodland, since 1999 much of it has now been cleared by The Friends Of Nunhead Cemetery and is a beautiful place to just stroll around. There are also some Open Days held during the year and you can visit one of the Crypts under the remaining Chaple, other crypts have long since been sealed up for safety reasons. This selection of photos were taken toady 21/05/11 at an open day. I hope to add more from other visits in the future as this is one of my favourite London walks, I just love the place.
