Kirkintilloch Road Race.

The field tackle the Hillhead Brae in the Kirkintilloch road race from the early 1960s. The bunch is led (left to right) by Brian Temple (Tranent), Jimmy Leitch (VC Stella) and Joe Linden (Glasgow Subs). Big Clanky (John Clark) is in the middle of the field trying to link up. He's still in the Lomond Roads at this time and has yet to join the VC Stella. It looks like Billy Warnock (Chryston Whs) on the left of the main field beside the lamp-post. Brian Temple won a silver medal in the 10-mile scratch track event of the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Jimmy Leitch was a top Scottish internationalist and Joe Linden had a long and distinguished top-level racing career. Any other information or identification welcome.
