Jimmy Walthour and Al Crossley, 6-Day American Cycling Stars.

    Newer Older

American race team Jimmy Walthour and Al Crossley meet up with a young fan, Alexander Fischer, in Central Park where they were doing a spot of training for their race in Madison Square Garden. The photograph is from November, 1937, and it must be quite cold as they're well wrapped up and wearing gloves. I see Al's resting his foot on the trike's back wheel for balance and has a bottle dynamo generator on his bike. Both wearing the famed U.S. national champion's stars and stripes jerseys.
