AK-47 Assault Rifle // Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947
Developed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the Soviet Union, the AK-47 or Avtomat Kalashnikova is a gas operated assault rifle which utilizes the 7.62x39mm FMJ catridge. The 47 in the name comes from the year the model was created in 1947 (though there were prototypes before that time). The AK-47 was officially accepted into the Soviet Armed Forces in 1949. Until now there have been many variants of the Kalashnikov rifle. The astounding durability and simplicity of the powerful assault rifle is the reason for it's prestige in todays gunnut society. The AK-47 lives on as a legend and a surefire way to destroy anything you point it at.
