Diesels amongst electric traction paraphernalia
A pair of DL class locomotives are about to cross Killarney Road as they near their destination of Te Rapa yard. They are hauling Train 390,which after the recent re-entry into service of the remaining Class 30/EF electric locomotives, was a good candidate for electric haulage. Sadly this was not to be and I made do with the ubiquitous DLs instead. These locos having handled Main Trunk services almost exclusively during the Covid lock-down period, whilst the EFs went into storage at Palmerston North depot.
