Final Moments

I took this picture from the finger of land that reaches out into Skaha Lake from Christie Memorial Provincial Park in Okanagan Falls. The piece of land was part of the Canadian Pacific Railroad wharf built in 1922 along with one in Keleden and in south Penticton. The wharves allowed the CPR to barge rail cars to Keleden and Okanagan falls from Penticton. In 1930 The CPR built the rail bed on the west side of Skaha Lake and no longer needed the wharves so they were dismantled.
