I've had one or two magical New Year's Eves in Wasdale over the years but 2012 wasn't one of them.
I thought I'd give this picture another airing just to remind myself, and anybody else who's interested, what it can be like given a bit of luck.

Brilliant on black - really captures the spirit of Wasdale - the brooding menace of the mountains

Such a special place Tony. Lovely to see with snow and moonlit cloud.
New Years Day 2013 was a good one wasn't it? It was here at Preston....not that I did anything with it.

Wow! Top shot, Tony! I thought I was looking at a scene from the Canadian Rockies or a Norwegian fjord at first, instead it's the stunning magic of the Lake District being revealed once again by you. What a memory to have, I'm envious of you, my friend. :-)

      Good capture:
I can feel the cold of that winter evening; And hear the stillnes of the place

What is the tiny light in the bottom od the hills on the lake edge???

COuld it be the Fell & Rock climbing club place ?
Think it is too far right to be Wasdale Head Inn

The light on the right is from Brackenclose. The other I think will be from somewhere on the campsite.
Thanks for looking and all the best for 2013.
