Passage du Cheval Blanc 1984
This passage continues on behind where I was standing, makes a turn to the left, then a jag to the right where it dead ends. It's now all bright and trendy and very chic. In 1984, it was mostly light industry, I seem to remember small textile shops, and the dead end was filled with urban detritus and decay. And cats.
It may have been the day this photo was shot...I don't remember...but the first time I ventured into this passage and made the turn into the dead end, there was a street woman feeding stray cats. As I came around the corner, about 50 cats all instantaneously jerked their heads to the left and stared in unison. I'll never forget that moment.
