One of the most notable features of the Mother Church Extension is the organ, built by Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company, which is one of the largest in the world. Built in 1952, it covers eight divisions with a total of 13,290 pipes and must be kept at a constant temperature to maintain its tuning. Organ concerts are regularly held here.
