Sunset Run, Carlsbad, CA
(1 in a multiple picture set)
After some years of spending our summer vacation in San Clemente, we switched to a place right on the beach in Carlsbad, CA. As was our habit, after supper we would walk on the beach. It was 1990, and my daughter, Nancy, was 16 at the time; full of energy and joy. She got bored walking and decide to run. As she moved out from us I grabbed my camera and snapped off a shot. I was lucky, and got what has become one of my most favorite photos. The sun was almost below the horizon and there was this pink-purpole glow upon the sand and the surf. The footprint she has just left is already disappearing as she makes the next one. And so are all of our footprints upon this earth. We must enjoy each step as we go along.
