Crater Lake National Park, OR 813

(1 in a multiple picture album)

If you go to Crater Lake NP, you'll drive up and up and up on a switch-back road through forest. When you finally reach the visitor center, park and get out, you'll still wonder where the lake is. A sign on a path will direct you to the edge of the crater. You'll take the final step, look over the rim, and you'll be amazed. Really amazed. This spot is almost too beautiful to believe. People have asked the Rangers if they color the water, it is so deep of a blue.

I found that the lake was larger than I anticipated. It's impossible to get the whole lake in one shot without a special lens.
