Dinosaur Footprints

From: National Museum Cardiff

These footprints are of small 'Coelophysis' dinosaurs which lived in South Wales around 210 million years ago. They were found on the coast between Sully and Barry and were made by a dinosaur running at around 22 km per hour. Several larger prints have been found near Porthcawl, of larger dinosaurs, including a Megalosaur.

This image forms part of the monthly 'Curators Choice' series from Rhagor, the collections based website from Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
