Line abreast formation
A few people that know me well might remember that I had a dream of becoming a fighter pilot when I was in my teens. Not because of the urge to bomb and kill but to be able to handle the most advanced and thrilling aeroplanes and feel the rush of power and speed and maneuverability of it. That dream was blown out of the skies even before my neck said crack because of some weird heart disturbance that made it do a double beat now and then.
I remember doing the ekg and I was supposed to reach maximum pulse by running up and down some stairs. By that time I was very fit from all years of hard training to become the best soccer player I could be and therefor my pulse went back down to fast. I had to run the shit out of those stairs and was sweating like crazy to finally make the young ticker reach and hold maximum pulse long enough to measure it's performance.
I had kind of a fighter pilot career later on as I flew every simulation on market for a pc in the early years of the computer revolution. My favorite was the Falcon 4.0 F-16 simulator. Specially after the creators seized updating it and users took over and made it the most realistic fighter jet sim ever! Heck, it took some 30 minutes just to press all buttons in the correct order to start the engines! Wonderful :)
Well that's how I got familiar with all kinds of formation lineups and other pilot lingo :)
