Asparagus and pork with rice

Pork and asparagus over rice, another 献立全集 creation....

Cut up 8-10 asparagus stalks.

Get 150-200 grams of sliced pork, cut it into easy-to-eat pieces. In a bowl, mix it with a tablespoon each of soy sauce, cooking sake (I didn't have some, so I used Jameson's Irish Whiskey, which was close at hand) and sesame oil. A little salt and pepper goes well, too. The original recipe calls for ginger as well, but I'm not a big fan, so I added crushed garlic. I figure a teaspoon's worth.

Throw the pork in a frying pan with a wee bit of cooking oil, and brown. Once it's brown, add the asparagus and two tablespoons of water. Cover and wait for about two minutes.

Serve over rice. Takes about 15 minutes, start to finish, not including the time required to cook the rice.

As you can tell, I'm a rice fan. Love it. Everything goes better with rice.
