Crucifix Spadefoot (Notaden bennetti)

Crucifix Spadefoot (Notaden bennetti), Condobolin, New South Wales

This juvenile frog was found in the kids playground in town. It must have decided the safest place to burrow was under the mulch beneath the swings. Juveniles are often much more brightly coloured than adults and a heck of a lot cuter. This guy was hopping around eating small flies and ants at night after a brief shower.
