Cool and fun cover! It looks like surgery will be taking place to remove that large orange object from her stomach : )

  4. twomets 71 months ago | reply

Retromod, either that or surgery will be required to repair the breast augmentation procedure that went horribly awry on one side. ("I know you wanted a silicone-filled balloon, Doctor Nick, but all they had at the Kwik-E-Mart were helium-filled balloons.")

I'd wrestle someone for that dress!

My friend twomets, I like your avatar! I had to do a double take, though!

She has to pose with the giant satsuma, but she scored an awesome shirt out of it!

El estratografico: Thanks so much! I'm glad that you like it! :)
Retromod: Thanks! I wouldn't fancy getting on a bus with that attached to me!
Twomets: I have images of helium-filled breasts deflating in public. Any humiliation suffered would be more than made up for by the fact that everyone around you would be talking in a very, very, silly voice..
Jan: It's great, isn't it? Kind of like a daywear all in one pajama suit. Which I hear are quite the thing this season!
Amy: Ha! If that's a giant plum, it would appear that she is also in the company of a grape and one of those yellow cherry tomatoes, then!

The girl on the cover with the 'gay charms' is Arlene Andrewartha. She was Melbourne Model of the Year for 1958. She was a popular television personally in the late 1950s and early 1960s (Channel 9 if I remember correctly) I did some research on her as an aside when doing other research when I got this record some 20 years ago. There were a few references to her in TV week, the Sun News Pictorial, and in Truth. She was a very popular. I think she was even a weather girl at one stage. The trail went cold in about 1963 - she went to the United States. She was in a 1957 TV series 'Lovely to Look At'. She reappears in 1979 in an episode of 'Prisoner' and then in 1980 in a straight to video shocker 'Dead Mans Float'. She's apparently writing a 'tell all' book according to a recent magazine report... The Spotlight label has turned out to be very important, Cyril Stevens recorded lots of choirs, school concerts, jazz bands, etc.around Victoria and South Australia. His studios were at 758 High Street Thornbury. The heart of hipsterville now!
