Tree Swallow - Richmond, BC

Iona Island is one of the best spots to bird in Vancouver. Swallow nest boxes have been added to the outer ponds and the pairs regularly stop near the box to talk. Here the new growth of a pine makes the closest perch for these little aerial acrobats. Throughout the year you can find these and even the rarest of our swallow species, the Purple Martin at the ponds and the Fraser river to the north.
