Please Don't Eat Me
I was searching for ingredients to go in a peanut sauce for supper, when I stumbled upon this jar of expired chili and garlic in oil. Actually, I didn't notice it was expired until I opened it and noticed the stale, waxy smell of oil past its prime. As you can see by this photo, the oil was actually very well past its prime, and perhaps was even expired when it was on the grocery store shelf. So, I threw the jar on the counter to be emptied out and washed.
Later on this evening, I noticed the jar was back in the fridge. My parents were in the room, so I explained to them that the contents of the jar were long spoiled.
"Now you tell me," my dad said, "guess what I just ate on my supper two minutes ago."
