The beautiful Town of Willemstad on the Caribbean Island of Curacao
This town of Willemstad on the Caribbean Island of Curacao is a designated UNESCO Heritage Site and is probably the most picturesque colonial city in the Caribbean with it's unique "wedding cake" colonial architecture.
The candy-coloured buildings date from 16th to 19th Century and it is like a little Amsterdam.
You approach the town over a floating Pontoon bridge.
Very popular with Cruise ship passengers.
As the Island is Dutch-owned the architecture is very heavily influenced by that of Holland.
