Loose Arrangement with Myself
Approximately 45 years (god help us!) ago when I attended Kelvin Hall School in Hull England a rather eccentric boy from our year group caused a certain amount of consternation when, during the games lesson he added his own autograph to that of Geoffrey Boycott onto one of the school's best cricket bats. The boy’s name was Arnott Francis and the irony was, by his own admission Arnott was probably the least sporty guy in the school, by choice you understand. At the time I thought it was a strange thing to do but as the years have rolled by (god help us!) I have come to realise what he did was an act of genius, certainly our games teacher Mr Ainsworth didn’t think that at the time.
This week the Middletons (god help us!) have released an official portrait of the family, a photograph that at best could be described as uninteresting, and at worst, tedious in the extreme. So it is with Arnott Francis and the Middletons, in mind I am releasing this official portrait of myself.
