It was great to see a few of these birds a little closer on this pelagic than I have seen them on previous occasions. Not the greatest set of photos as I had to push my camera setup to suit the conditions.
I've watched other Shearwaters dive beneath the surface and 'fly' underwater in pursuit of food. These birds do the same and will quite happily dive a couple of metres underwater. They 'fly' down - wings flapping - and back up again. Great to watch a bird flying underwater!
