The Town of Clark's Harbour is located on Cape Sable Island, which is on the beautiful south shore of Nova Scotia. This little town of a little over 800 people will catch your attention with the white sand beaches and beautiful blue water that surrounds it.

Most of the people who reside in Clark's Harbour rely on the fishing industry to make a living. That includes fishing, lobstering, and boat building. Come and learn all about the different types of fishing, boat building, and our world famous lobsters.

Home of the Cape Island Boat:

The Cape Island boat is characterized as having distinctively high bows, a long, broad, open workspace, and is low to the sea. It is constructed in different sizes, mainly from 30' to 50'. The are found all over the atlantic coast of the provinces.

The Cape Island boat was created, as the story goes, by Ephraim Atkinson around 1905. In 1905, he was approached by a man from St. John, New Brunswick to build a power boat. He fit an engine that was supplied by the man into a boat. After this, Atkinson created another powered boat, that was similar in design to the previous one, this boat was considered the first "Cape Island" boat created.

Really a cool view, lots of ships with big buoys. As I don't have many chances to go to the see, it's always great to see your photos!
