DAY 99/365: Doug Was Here
As our family was ambling back to the car after the annual Pear Blossom Parade we noticed this inscription staring up at us from the sidewalk.
Now, I don't know WHO Doug is, WHEN he was here, or WHY - exactly - he was here, but I love finding evidence like this. The notion that Doug took the time - either with permission or as part of some covert operation - to leave his indelible mark in the concrete makes me happy. This is one of the older parts of Medford, so it's conceivable that Doug was "here" quite some time back.
The mystery ensues when you begin to consider where Doug may be now. What is he up to? How many more markers has he left in his journeys?
I originally intended this to be my official Daily Shoot photo, but I reconsidered when I decided that "Doug Was Here" relies on words...a basic violation of today's prompt. I still like the picture, however, and the story that hides behind it.
I'm happy that, at some time on some day under some circumstances, Doug was here.
Today's Daily Shoot assignment: Pretend words don’t exist, only images. Make a photo today that conveys a story to those who see your work.
