A Nativity Scene

A Christmas Nativity play at school was incomplete in the 1950s & 1960s unless at least one boy was in wellingtons, it was a Christmas tradition of school boys.

The adults might have mentioned that shepards at the original event would have worn a leather type sandal would have been ignored, rather than have to put up with some odd fitting item just designed for the school play. As shephards in modern time would probably wear wellingtons that was a good enough excuse to come in ones wellies.

As to the tea towles - please return them to Sister at the end of the play.
