The Bancroft Memorial Library

    Newer Older

The Bancroft Memorial Library in Hopedale, Massachusetts was built in 1898 and is a replica of Merton College Chapel at Oxford. Like the Hopedale Unitarian Church, the building is in the old English style of architecture. The library was designed by Mr. C. Howard Walker from Boston. It is interesting to note that the granite used in the construction of the building came from the Norcross Brothers quarry in Milford, Massachusetts.
