Cookstove

My stove and some of the cast I use. The color is called peaches and cream. Put down those rubber mats on the tile floor,it's slippery when comeing in from outside. The wood is also in a big copper pot, that only gets polished couple times a year. That chunk of wood on the right is where I split kindling.

This must be the pot you mean. It's just like the one at Canons Ashby. I've been looking at your photos, they're wonderful, I especially like the ones of your pantry. It's just how I imagine America to be from all the books I read!

Thank you for the complements and looking me up! Where is the Beautiful Kitchen you have pictures of?
  • Sunchild57 Photography. PRO 5y

It's in a big house in Northamptonshire (where I live) called Canons Ashby. There's some other pics of it with this one but the kitchen was the best bit. There were too many people visiting so I couldn't get as many photos as I'd have liked but I shall go back and try again another day. We looked at all your photos last night and loved them all. Definately my favourites on here. Where are you in America?

I'm in Michigan. Yes, I did look at your pictures of the kitchen, all the Wonderfull items used for cooking.I would love to see more pictures of the house , sounds like alot of people like to see that place! I like using old fashioned items, have been thinking of a way to hang all of my cast iorn on the brick wall behind the cookstove.

There's some pics on my Wicken Fen set of the kitchen in a cottage there. It's been kept just as it was and there are some really nice old bits and pieces to look at. Think you might like them too.

Is it possible to toast slices of bread with a wood-burning cookstove? Do you just lay the bread on the cooking surface or is there a tool for doing it?
  • 7thswan 5y

You sure can! My way of makeing toast tho is to put butter on bread then fry it in a pan, if you did it right on the top it will smoke, from the crumbs. And no matter what you do,the top does get dirty.
