Monotropsis odorata (Pygmy Pipes or Sweet Pinesap)
On Friday, I met my flickr buddy, Kelvin Taylor (KT) and his cousin Cathy Howell, both from North Carolina, to show them a couple of wonderful botanical sites in the upstate of South Carolina. These are two spots that I photographed just last week, but the wildflowers were still in great shape.
The two areas are Oconee Station State Historic Site and Devil's Fork State Park. Each offers quite a different palette and selection of flora that are native to the region.
