Attwater's Prairie Chicken booming mating dance (taxidermy version)
There are only 50 Attwater's Prairie Chickens left in the wild at this National Wildlife Refuge near Houston: www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/texas/attwater/index.html
This is a stuffed version in the Visitor's Center display area. The bird has a very distinctive mating dance called "booming" that involves puffing out its red "cheeks," stamping its feet and making a whooshing sound that resembles blowing over an open bottle.
