Charleston, Church Street rooftops

Charleston rooftops as seen from roof terrace of a Church Street house. St. Phillip's steeple seen in distance. Flat roof terrace was created at the 4th or attic level in early 20th century. Original hip roof was probably damaged during 1886 earthquake or for some other reason was partially removed to allow the reconfiguration of the roof to allow use as a terrace.
