Sabine Pass Lighthouse

The Sabine Pass Lighthouse is located on the Louisiana side of the Sabine Pass. It is one of only three built in the United States of similar design. The station was established in 1857 and was used for 95 years. The light has been innactive since 1952. During the Civil War, the light was temporarily shut down.

 

The lighthouse is a 75' octagonal brick tower with an 85' focal plane.
