West 111th Street & K-edzie - Mt. Greenwood - Chicago IL
There is so much to see here in this photo from August 23, 1967. This was taken looking north on Kedzie Ave. towards West 111th Street.
I'll try and identify all of the interesting things in this picture! On the left side: Chicago Police with a Chevrolet Impala; City of Chicago Bureau of Electricity - International Harvester Metro van; Cardland Party and Gift Shop; a telephone booth (do these exists any longer?); Wonderburger - Coca ~ Cola sign; garbage truck on a White chassis; Fleur de Lis cleaners; Jewel grocery store sign and off in the distance a standard oil sign.
I'm not great at identifying automobiles, but here goes. On Kedzie heading south a 1958 or 1959 Chevrolet; behind the Chevy is a 1961/62 Buick?; and the Volkswagon Beetle is turning left. Heading north on Kedzie just to the left is a mid-1960's Ford Galaxie.
On the right side is a 10 year old boy on a bicycle; Imperial Credit Co. with a vintage neon sign; what I belive is the rear end of a 1965 Chevrolet Nova; a Chevy Corvair; F.W. Woolworth's; Martino's Pizza; Ed Vree Food Center; Babella Realty Co. and I believe a sign for the Pizza House.
Corrections are welcome - I know all the cars can't be correct and if I missed a detail, point it out!
