Thank you everyone! I love making these simple garlands, I make a similar project with my class using a tree branch to hang the objects from.

Oh Patricia I wish I was so prepared. It's only early because the magazines need my projects early. Really I'm a last minute person at Christmas, no matter how I try and be prepared, it's such a busy time of year.

Your garland enchants me, Nini ! It's really so beautiful, delicate, poetic. Love the colors too, that relaxes me. Great job and lovely photo !

Thank you Ulla and Nanou. I used white, air-drying clay for the shapes, it's lovely to work with.

Why a "winter garland" ? It can be an "autumn garland" too : it wouldn't have been possible if it had been red, but natural colors can fit to every sesaon. I use to make "mobiles" throughout the year and my fav are the autumn ones.
Nini, when you'll have taught me embroidery and sewing (you or your kids who are alreaddy very skillful !), please accept me in your "air-drying clay" class ! I promise to bring you pop corn ;D

Thank you Lisa. I wish I was so prepared, it's just early because it's an assignment for a magazine I do things for, everything is always a season early. I'm generally a very good procrastinator, it just works for me :)

Oh yes Nanou, we like these garlands any time of year. This one is called winter just because it's a project for a winter issue of a magazine. The magazine doesn't usually call their Christmas issue a Christmas issue because they have non-religious content. That seems a long, confusing explanation!?
I make mobiles with my classes using this clay and shapes. We hang them on branches similar to those that you make I think. They are so simple but the children love making them and the parents enjoy displaying them. You know you don't need any classes, you should be teaching yourself - but you can still bring the popcorn!!!
