My body felt heavy when I came to, when my eye lashes untangled themselves from one another, heavy like someone had buried me deep beneath the earth while dreams flickered and faded in my head.
My arms I couldn't move,my legs wouldn't budge. I rolled beneath the coffin of my sheets only to sink into the place my body laid once before.
Sleep what sweet caress, but like any vice latches its bony fingers around my soul until I can't escape to live in the real world.
In that place between wake and sleep/ My dreams before my eyes do creep/ Sometimes only to cause them to weep/
In that place were dreams form and fade/ Thoughts of you bend and sway/ Giving my heart away/ In the place where sleep still holds/ I am barefoot in your home/ Placing me where my dreams think I belong/ In that place where wake tries to come/ I feel your presence next to me/ A whisper beneath white sheets/ In that place between wake and sleep/ Dreams are reality in sleep/ In wake they are wishes I keep.
