a couple of high flyers
Posted for this week's "weekly photo challenge" where we were to take someone in the group's image and retread it. I chose to retread this image because I was there when micky mb took it and I was jealous that she actually came away with the picture that I saw but failed to capture. It is a great picture to begin with and micky doesn't leave any room for improvement in her pictures, processing or presentation so I had to be content to simply change it ever so slightly to try and give it "my feel". I am so glad we had the day in Forney to shoot together and glad for the pictures we both came away with. While I tried to give this shot a storybook feel, this story did not have a happy ending. Philbeck's Antiques where this was taken burned to the ground in July of this year and everything inside of the 10,000 square foot building was destroyed. It felt magical standing there that day looking at this shot but now it feels priceless. micky, thank you for the memories and for letting me play around with one of my favorite pictures.
