Very cool! I used to live a couple blocks from here though long long after the stadium was torn down.
    Nice capture!

Wow. Great memories! I feel fortunate to have played high school football at Kezar for Riordan High School, back in the 70s. Thanks for the post! I also remember going to my first pro football game, watching Roman Gabriel QB the LA Rams against the Niners.

Never got inside but stopped by during the summer of '70 to check it out. Had odd configuration because one side was up against a street and couldn't be expanded.

    Wonderful shot!

My Dad was the groundskeeper there, and I have many fond memories of going to work with him. The raccoons ran that place after sunset, and you could hear them breathing if you were on the field.

I spent HOURS just walking those corridors and I can still remember the smells.

    Thanks again for posting.

Very nice! Reminds me of old Tulane Stadium in New Orleans before they tore it down to ensure that the Saints and Tulane would play in the new Superdome. This photo would look nice in this group that is all about stripes. TERRIFIC PICTURE!

Kezar, memories I will have forever. 1972 loss a classmate I was in the 8th grade. The following year playing for Riordan High School, our freshman squad played against Sacred Heart. I remember leaving the locker room and walking through the tunnel towards the field, I can still hear the cleats getting louder and louder then running onto the field. Wow still get goose bumps. They even filmed us freshmen, that was a big deal.

Late 1960s I went to Lowell High School, when our football team played at Kezar, the toughs from Polytechnic High would run us out of the neighborhood. San Francisco 49ers played their home games at Kezar Stadium from the the mid forties until 1969, I attended many Niner games there.

Went to the High School of Commerce during WW2 -1942-1944 and our football team played at Kezar, It was great, the fog would come rolling in and we couldn't see all the plays, but, heck we were screaming kids and didn't care. If only I could get some photos of high school games played there during that time. It was war time and a lot of athletes enlisted so the teams did dwindle away. But the memories are still wonderful. When the war was over, we went to the niners games and have loved the niners ever since.
