Wytham Woods in autumn

    Newer Older

Wytham Woods - a ca. 400 hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) 4.5 miles West of Oxford. It is best known for its exceptionally high density of badgers and for its great tits. The woods contain many broad-leaved trees that are allowed to develop naturally. Fallen trees and branches are left in place for invertebrates and fungi, and the animals that live off them.
