Mont Ventoux is listed as part of the Dauphine Alps; a range of the French Alps that is out on its own in southern France. Mont Ventoux is known for being part of the Tour de France. During our windy trek up to the 6263 ft. summit we passed many bikers training for the next year's tour. Mont Ventoux juts out by itself from the rest of the mountains and is visible for many miles around. As you can see it was a clear day and the view was fanastic.
