face of a queen

This is a likeness of Lady Jane Grey, queen of England for only a few days. You can see the model at her ancestral home at Bradgate Park at the Visitor’s Centre. She was used by her family as a pawn in the ancient game of political chess in Tudor times and after an unhappy childhood was executed at the age of 16 years old, a child really. Her life was over after it had only just begun, poor girl.
