February Beehive block for Jo
This is going out a few days late--it was a great challenge and a bit outside my comfort zone, but ultimately a LOT of fun. For her Beehive month, Jo sent us each a 1/2 yard of a neutral solid (which may be Kona Stone, but I'm not sure. Jo?) and asked us for tucks, pleats, gathers, etc. to give the block texture.
I chose to do some free-form tucks, then sewed them down (I was worried about them keeping their shape through the wash). I did two panels of them, and then turned one so that the tucks were facing opposite directions. I left the block just over 13" so that Jo can trim it down to 12.5" before she puts them together. Hope you like it, Jo-- it really was a cool challenge!
