New business

HESR GP40's 3045-3044 are working a ballast train near Millington, MI on the former New York Central/Penn Central Mackinaw branch. This line was at one time a very important feeder for the New York Central from Detroit to Saginaw-Bay City, with an extension to the Straits of Mackinaw and a connection via railcar ferry to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan and the DSS&A Railroad. Reportedly there is new business expected on the line which has been abandoned south of Millington for many years. 10-23-2018.
