Jalan Petaling (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

Jalan Petaling or Petaling Street is Kuala Lumpur's equivalent of Manila's Divisoria and Bangkok's Chaktuchak Market. It is a good place to hunt and haggle for pirated goods --- from designer clothes to sunglasses to DVDs to appliances --- with numerous sidewalk cafes offering a good eat. Petaling Street was once known as Chee Cheong Kai in fond memory of the Tapioca mill that started this busy commercial strip. Taken with a Nikon D40 in 2008 while attending the DTP Human Rights and Trade Capacity Building Program for Community Advocates in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Blogged at KL Fast and Furious in "Shooting Churches, Eating Noodles".
