Tea Grading

Graded Teas in Zurich. Grading teas is done differently in every country but there is a shared terminology. As a result, a consumer must learn several different grading systems to differentiate teas.

My favorite is Darjeeling First Flush Castleton. Darjeeling is a mix of green and black teas with both coming from the first Spring harvest.

I've visited several tea salons in europe and asia and have seen a huge different in price and hence quality. There are tea salons in Paris where a pot of the highest grade is well over 200 euros.
