Jesus' Birthday Cake

    Newer Older

Paper cake as an Advent calendar.

Paper boxes in the shapes of cake pieces. There are 24 boxes. Each one can be filled with candy, smalls toys, prayers, Bible scripture...

With the color of Advent being purple, there are many shades of purples. Box #24 is white because that is the feast & inside we put all the baby Jesus from out nativity scenes. When we come home after Christmas Eve Mass the children open box #24 & put all the baby Jesus in the nativity scenes. Box #14 is rose as it is the 3rd Sunday of Advent (in 2008). This Advent calendar is reusable every year. We would just switch the # on the rose box to the appropriate 3rd Sunday of Advent for that year.
